CR Summit offers both individual or group meadow and trail riding throughout the season. Riders will enjoy building panoramic meadow and trail riding on an individual and group basis. Rides can be scheduled via our "on-line scheduling" web page or via phone at 970-879-6201.
Lodging & Lesson Packages
Sand Properties a sister company of CR Summit is offering CR Summit members an opportunity to spend a weekend or week in a two or three bedroom home. Living Quarters features all the bells and whistles of a ranch home. Packages include lodging, lessons, and your own horse in a pasture outside your door. Awake to a beautiful sunrise and step out the door to gaze upon your special mount . Spend the day grooming your horse, riding in CR Summit's Arena, Round Pen or glorious Meadow or simply stroll through the aspen grove!
Buy a "Schooled" Horse Program
In May of each year, CR Summit offer's "schooled" horses for sale. Some of the schooled horses are from local herds here in Steamboat Springs and some are transported from South Carolina.
"My Horse" for a Season Program
At the request of our Riders, we are again offering our students the opportunity to ride the same horse for the entire riding season. Riders can reserve the horse of their choice on a "month" to "month basis or alternatively at a discount for the entire CR Summit Riding Season (June 11-August 24).
"My First Ride" Introduction Lessons:
A 45 minute Introduction Riding Lesson teaches members “rider basics” for control and balance. An Introduction Riding Lesson is ideal preparation for the CR Summit Riding Club and future Group Lessons. Introduction Lessons are conducted in our Round Pen and teach to “maintain position at the walk”, the basic aids to “turn and stop your horse” and exercises to “enhance balance and confidence”. Once the member student applies the basic aids to stop and turn, lessons are conducted in the Large Arena allowing students to hone skills and to learn new ones, like “rising to trot”, safely. Member Students that are old enough, are taught about grooming and "tacking-up" as well.
Group Lessons:
A 60 minute lesson is recommended once our member students are confident and capable of “riding basics”. Group Lessons introduce the element of “friendly competition”, as students each strive to do their best in front of their peers and cheer-each-other-on as they learn new skills. Responsibility, Respect, & Good Sportsmanship will be emphasized. Lessons for Western and English Disciplines are available on a member's own horse or one of CR Summit's "school horse" or"specialty horse".
Private Lessons:
Private lessons are available to give member students focused “personal” attention to enhance their comprehensive riding skills. Lessons for Western and English Disciplines are available on member's own horse or one of CR Summit's “school horse” or "specialty horse”. Private Lesson packages available this year (see Participation Waiver or Activities page for further detail).
Members Only Special Events & Group Events:
CR Summit Riding Club offers it's members riding facilities for special group events and special rides. Reservations are required.
Additional "Learning Clinics”will be offered throughout the season, including but not limited to CPR Youth & Adult Safety Clinic, Horse Dentistry and Ferrier Clinics. Clinic Fees vary, and will be posted in advance on our website and Calendar.
